What an offshore loan processor does, from fact-find to settlement
A growing loan book means more documents to chase, more data to enter and more lender follow-ups. An offshore loan processor owns that repeatable file work at every stage:
- Before submission: request payslips, bank statements and ID, enter fact-find data into your CRM, and prepare servicing calculator inputs for the broker.
- Packaging: check the file against your submission checklist and flag anything missing or inconsistent for broker review.
- After lodgement: follow up lenders, record conditions and requests, and track valuations through to formal approval.
- Settlement and after: track loan documents to settlement, then set up review reminders and fixed-rate expiry follow-ups.
Start with the bottleneck. If deals stall on document collection, the brief leans towards client follow-up. If they stall after submission, it leans towards lender liaison. Our page for mortgage brokers covers how brokerages usually split this work.
What stays with your broker
- Credit advice, lender selection and the preliminary assessment
- Final review of every file before lodgement
- Conversations that need a broker’s judgement, including credit decisions and pricing requests
Your processor prepares and tracks. Your broker advises and approves. Outsourced loan processing works when that line is written into the brief.
How we test loan processors
Each search typically starts with 1,000+ candidates from job advertising, direct headhunting and referrals through vetted local networks in the Philippines. Of that starting pool, about 40% pass CV and quality screening, 20% the video screen, 10% the practical assessment and 5% the structured interview. Only about 2% reach finalist review, and you receive a shortlist of 3–4, usually within about 2 weeks.
The practical assessment could include a sample loan file with a missing payslip and a bank statement that does not match the declared expenses, checked against a submission checklist, plus a follow-up email to the client. When you interview, look for a processor who spots the inconsistency without being told, writes a client email that is polite and specific, and knows which questions belong with the broker.
Outsource loan processing without the monthly margin
Most mortgage processing outsourcing runs through managed agencies, and they charge a fee every month on top of the processor’s salary for as long as you keep them. Staff Domain, for example, publishes $1,099 per person per month, about $13,188 a year, plus $1,200 per hire (checked October 2026). Over two years that is about $27,576 in fees.
With Tarino you pay a one-time fee, and your processor keeps their full salary because your brokerage pays them directly. Compare agency fees with a one-time fee, or run your own numbers in the cost calculator.
Getting a new processor settled
Hand over your submission checklist and one lender’s process first, then add lenders as files come back clean. Settlement dates do not move for overseas holidays, so plan cover around the Philippines public holidays for 2026. If your brokers also need help with client reviews and calendars, a client services officer can sit beside the processor. Lender relationships build over time, and more than 95% of Tarino placements are still in the role at 6 months. See the five screening stages.

Loan processor: common questions
Is outsourced loan processing safe for client documents?
It can be, when you control the access. Your processor works in your CRM and lodgement platform under a named login you create, with only the permissions the role needs. Tarino doesn't hold your client data. Use multi-factor authentication, keep documents in your own systems rather than email, and remove access the day someone leaves.
Loan processor or parabroker, which do I need?
A loan processor usually focuses on documents, data entry and application progress. A parabroker may take on more file preparation and analysis for the broker. Titles vary between brokerages, so we scope the actual tasks before recruiting and test candidates against that work, not against a job title.
Can you recruit for our CRM and aggregator workflow?
Yes. Tell us which CRM, lodgement platform and aggregator processes you use, such as MyCRM, Mercury or ApplyOnline. We assess relevant experience through a practical exercise, and the shortlist notes any training each finalist will need on your particular setup before they work files alone.
Who makes lending recommendations?
Your broker does. Credit advice, lender selection, the preliminary assessment and final file review stay with your broker. The processor works within the authority, escalation points and approval steps you define, and routes any question about suitability or pricing back to the broker rather than answering it.
Who pays the loan processor?
You do. Your brokerage hires and pays the processor directly, so they receive their full salary. Tarino charges a one-time recruitment fee per hire, with nothing monthly. Pricing is on our pricing page, and Tarino placements come with 6-month replacement cover for the same role, under the conditions in our terms.
